Day 27: How to Update Your Assessment of Your Own Reliability

The only evidence that you can trust yourself to follow through is accumulated behavioral data. Feelings of confidence are not evidence. Intentions are not evidence. Twenty-seven days of maintained practice is evidence.
Today, take that evidence seriously. Ask: what does completing this month tell me about what I am capable of? Be specific. Not about character in general — about specific conditions. You maintained this practice under these circumstances, at this level of difficulty, for this duration.
That is new data. It may confirm what you already believed about yourself. It may update it. Either way, it changes the accuracy of your self-assessment. Update accordingly — not as self-congratulation, but as information. You are now working with a more accurate picture of your own follow-through.
