Day 3: How to Audit How Much You Do for an Audience

RAMADAN

Performance and practice are not the same thing. They can look identical from the outside. They produce different results.

For one day, track one thing you do differently when someone is watching and one thing that stays consistent regardless. The point is not to eliminate the performance — some of what is performed is also genuine. The point is to know which is which.

Ask one question: if no one would ever know you did this, would you still do it? Apply it to your Ramadan practice. Apply it to one or two other areas of your life. Note what the answer reveals.

Visibility shapes behavior. That is a structural fact, not a moral failing. Knowing how much your behavior is shaped by observation is more useful than pretending it isn't.
